Honalulu, Hawaii — Boise State Esports went 6-1 at the Hawaii Esports Invitational over the weekend, going perfect through the group stage and bracket, before falling to Baylor in the grand finals, 4-2.

Offensively, Wuzy led the charge throughout the weekend, finishing with 36 goals on 151 shots, consistently applying pressure and forcing defenses into mistakes. Emiliano Flores (Durtho) anchored the midfield with 29 goals and a team-high 27 assists, adding 69 saves in a complete two-way performance. Preston Ferrante (Preston) brought steady production across the board, contributing 26 goals, 20 assists, and 59 saves.

Group play set the tone. Boise State rolled to a 5–0 record, topping the standings ahead of Baylor (4–1), Michigan State (3–2), and Syracuse (2–3). The Broncos handled Hawaii, Syracuse, Grand Canyon, Michigan State, and Baylor in succession, showcasing the balance that has defined this roster all year.

In the quarterfinals, Boise State advanced cleanly into the semifinals, where they met Syracuse. The Broncos wasted little time asserting control. The offense clicked early, rotations were crisp, and defensive recoveries came fast. Boise State took the series 4–1, punching their ticket to the championship match with authority.

On the other side of the bracket, Baylor emerged as the primary challenger. After finishing second in group play, Baylor swept Michigan State 4–0 in the semifinals. Their trio of Andy, Zineel, and Hockster hit form at the right time. Zineel in particular was dangerous in the bracket, combining creative passing with timely scoring, while Andy's defensive reads and shot placement proved critical in tight games.

The Grand Finals delivered the matchup everyone wanted: two teams that had already clashed in groups, now meeting again with the trophy on the line.

Boise State struck first in the series, but Baylor responded with composure. The Bears capitalized on small defensive gaps and converted key chances in transition. Despite strong stretches from the Broncos and another multi-goal effort from Wuzy, Baylor maintained control in the pivotal middle games of the series. A high-scoring fourth game tilted momentum decisively, and Baylor closed the series 4–2 in a Best-of-7 thriller.

The Bronco's focus turns to the home stretch of the Power Esports Conference, with three matchups remaining before the national championship in Las Vegas, April 10-12. Head Coach Doc Haskell was encouraged by what he saw: "We played our system. We have to fix a few mistakes this week before Minnesota. You know we will watch the tape and make sure we clearn up the little things, run out every ground ball to make sure we are ready for the home stretch."
