Broncos Collect Third-Straight Win

FRESNO, Calif. — Boise State collected its third-straight win, defeating Fresno State, 69-53, on Saturday night at Save Mart Arena.
 
Javan Buchanan paced all players and scored a game-high 26 points for Boise State (18-11 overall, 10-8 Mountain West). He tallied a season-high 11 field goals and added six rebounds, three assists and two steals.
 
Andrew Meadow made three long balls and recorded 14 points and five rebounds. Dylan Andrews pitched in with 11 points, six boards and three assists.
 
DeShawn Gory led Fresno State (13-16, 7-12 MW) with a double-double, tallying 20 points and 11 rebounds. Wilson Jacque registered 16 points on 7-for-12 shooting.

In a low-scoring first half, both teams made exactly 10 field goals apiece and shot under 40 percent. Boise State briefly trailed at the outset, but led for 16 of the 20 minutes.
 
After missing its first eight shots from the floor, the Broncos tallied a two-point field and knocked down a trio of threes. Boise State forced Fresno State into three early turnovers led by six upon reaching the first media timeout.
 
In the opening 10 minutes of the first half, the Broncos attempted 16 3-pointers. Six of the team's initial seven made field goals were from beyond the arc, resulting in an early double-digit advantage.
 
Collecting eight threes by seven different players, Boise State's largest lead was 10. The Broncos and Bulldogs combined for 51 points in the half, with Boise State leading by five at the intermission.
 
Fresno State scored the first points of the second half, but the Broncos responded with seven unanswered to reopen a double-digit lead. Buchanan served as the offensive spark plug for Boise State, scoring 11 points in seven minutes.
 
In the second half, the senior leader from Indiana poured 19 points on 8-of-11 shooting. Spanning the final 20 minutes, no other Bronco scored more than eight.
 
Boise State's largest lead was 16, giving the team a sizable cushion and leaving little doubt. Andrews iced the game at the free throw line, securing the third-straight win for the Broncos.

· Javan Buchan made a season high 11 field goals and collected his sixth 20-point game of the season. The Broncos now have 22 20-point efforts.

Boise State returns home on Tuesday for senior night and its final regular season contest at ExtraMile Arena. Playing host to San Diego State at 7 p.m. MT, the game will air live on CBS Sports Network and KBOI 670 AM, the team's official radio partner.
