RENO, Nev. – Boise State women's basketball secured a 70-61 victory over Nevada on Wednesday afternoon.

Boise State (18-5, 9-3 Mountain West) overcame an 11-point deficit behind a strong performance from sophomore Libby Hutton, extending its winning streak to eight.

The Broncos opened the contest on a 9-0 run, with Hutton scoring the first field goal, followed by a Mya Hansen jumper, a Hutton layup and a Hansen three-pointer. Nevada (7-15, 3-9) didn't get on the board until the 7:39 mark when Ahrray Young hit a jumper. The Wolf Pack then got hot, going on a 14-0 run. Imbie Jones tied the game at 13-13 before Young drained a three to give Nevada its first lead, 16-13. Boise State went scoreless for more than five minutes during the run and Nevada carried an 18-14 advantage into the end of the first quarter.

The second quarter opened with an Izzie Harms three, followed by back-to-back layups from Skylar Durley. Emily Howard and Jayda Lewis each added layups for the Broncos. Nevada answered with a 7-0 run before Natalie Pasco stopped the run with a 3-pointer. Amelia Raidaveta capped the half with a layup as the shot clock expired, giving the Wolf Pack a 37-29 lead at halftime.

Tatum Thompson opened the third quarter with a turnaround jumper in the paint, but Raidaveta quickly answered with a layup. Boise State held Nevada without a field goal for more than four minutes until Olivia Poulivaati converted a layup. Hutton followed with a layup of her own to cut the deficit to three. After Nevada was held scoreless for more than two minutes, Poulivaati scored again before Pasco buried a three to tie the game at 45-45. A Nevada jumper briefly regained the lead, but freshman Keirra Thompson knocked down a three with six seconds remaining to give Boise State a 48-47 advantage heading into the final quarter.

Hutton opened the fourth quarter with a layup to extend the Broncos' lead. After Nevada answered, Hutton responded with another basket. Durley scored on a layup to end a scoreless stretch for the Wolf Pack, but Dani Bayes drilled a three to push Boise State's lead to 55-51 with 4:47 remaining. Pasco added another three for the Broncos. Nevada attempted a late comeback, cutting the deficit to six at 62-56, but Boise State pulled away to secure the 70-61 win.
