WHAT'S NEXT: Boise State returns to ExtraMile Arena for another quad meet, hosting San Jose State, Oregon State and UC Davis. The teams square off at 7 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 6. It will be Boise State's annual My Cause Meet and Alumni Night. As part of Boise State's partnership with Maddyn Homes, tickets are available for $5 and kids under 12 can get in for free if they wear a jersey, leotard or club team shirt. Fans can donate to the EmpowHER Play fund HERE, with Maddyn Homes matching all contributions.

SCOUTING SAN JOSE STATE: San Jose State enters the meet averaging 195.206, the second-highest mark in the Mountain West. The Spartans boast the league's top vault average (48.988), ranking 21st in the NCAA. Mikaela Pitts (9.831), Sophie Patterson (9.825) and Kaviana Jurries (9.825) hold the conference's top-three averages on the apparatus. That trio plus Genesis PeBenito have combined for eight MW weekly awards. Head coach Joanne Bowers is in her eighth season at the helm, guiding the team to NCAA Regionals in 2022 and 2024.

Sophia Esposito is 16th in the country in all-around (39.350) and ranks first or second on the team in all four events. The Beavers are tied for 16th in the nation on bars (49.010) and rank 18th on beam (49.025). Head coach Tanya Chaplin is in her 29th season at the helm, earning six Pac-12 Coach of the Year awards and leading the program to NCAA Regionals in every season. The Pac-12 will sponsor gymnastics again in 2027, with Boise State and Oregon State joining Southern Utah and Utah State.

SCOUTING UC DAVIS: UC Davis is averaging 193.450 across four meets this year, posting a season-high 194.775 in a quad meet sweep on Jan. 23. The Aggies also swept the MPSF weekly awards after that meet, with Amelia Moneymaker, Molly Osborne and Avah Reichow garnering recognition. Moneymaker leads the squad on bars (9.806) and all-around (38.975) while Reichow leads them on floor (9.800). Head coach Tanya Ho Gomez is in her fourth season at the helm and second as full-time head coach. She was named MSPF Coach of the Year in 2023 and led the Aggies to an NCAA Regional appearance in 2025.

Last year, the Broncos went 5-0 and set a program record for average attendance at 2,196. In the Jan. 30 home-opener, the Broncos shattered the previous single-meet attendance record of 2,326, bringing in 2,986 fans. Boise State posted a season-high score of 195.250, defeating Air Force (194.225) and Sacramento State (193.425).

Pascal has scored 9.800 or higher and led the Broncos in all four meets this year. Miraya Nero added a career-high 9.850 while Delaney Reeves posted a 9.825, the second-best mark of her career.

FANTASTIC FRESHMEN: Miraya Nero was named Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week after her Jan. 16 performance at BYU, where she won the all-around crown with a 39.075 and tied for second on beam with a 9.825. She is the first Boise State freshman to win an all-around title since 2017 (Courtney McGregor) and first Bronco to secure a MW Specialist of the Week award this year. She posted a career-high 9.850 on floor and 39.100 in the all-around in the Jan. 30 home quad, Boise State's best all-around score since 2021 (Hope Masiado). Isabella Delarosa, a Meridian, Idaho native, competed at home for the first time on Jan. 30, scoring 9.825 on beam to earn a share of the event title, the first of her career.

From 1990-2007, she was an assistant coach for Boise State. Bird was a gymnast at Boise State from 1986-89, holding the school's floor record for four years. In her 36 years on staff, Boise State has produced 34 NCAA Regional appearances, 15 conference titles and 13 All-Americans. Bird has earned the conference coach of the year eight times, including the last two awards in the Mountain West.

Also coming back for the Broncos are two All-MW floor selections. First-team honoree Blake Pascal returns for her fifth year and second-team honoree Bridget Kemp is back for her sophomore campaign.
