BOISE, Idaho — Boise State Esports continued its strong spring showing on February 5, opening the night with a controlled victory over Baylor in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate before closing with a sweep of Kansas.
Against Baylor, the Broncos settled in quickly, navigating multiple characters with similar playstyles and adapting as the set progressed. That adjustment paid off early, as Boise State claimed the opening game 14–10 by identifying patterns and exploiting matchups as the set developed.
By the fourth game, the outcome was effectively decided. Starmis delivered a standout performance against Baylor's Ness, shutting the door on any potential comeback and locking in the series. With the match already secured, SuperSonic closed out the night with confidence, playing freely while still taking his final pairing to complete the sweep.
Game 2 followed a similar script, with Baylor opting for the same overall setup. The match also marked the debut of Gigantor, who stepped in with a new character and showed promise despite limited experience. Even in his first appearance, Gigantor was competitive, taking two stocks before eventually falling as Boise State secured its third win of the season.
The Broncos carried that momentum directly into their matchup against Kansas later in the evening. Boise State left little doubt in the second contest, delivering a clean 2–0 sweep marked by confident play and consistent execution across the lineup.
