BATON ROUGE, La. – Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden made history with their 30th win as a duo, becoming the winningest pair in Boise State history, while facing three ranked opponents at the Death Volley Invitational.

Boise State dropped four matches, including three narrow 3-2 losses.

No. 9 California clinched the win with straight-set victories on courts four, five and one. Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian put the points on the board for the Broncos with a 22-20, 21-18 win on court three, while Allyson Alden and Serena van der Made sealed the result on court two with a hard-fought 24-22, 26-24 victory.

After dropping the opening match on court five to Georgia State, Addison Moss and Elli Wolthuis responded with a 14-21, 21-16, 15-13 win on court four to even the dual. Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian then secured a straight-set victory, 21-13, 21-18. However, Georgia State answered by taking the final two matches on courts two and one to clinch the 3-2 win.

Boise State began day two of the Death Volley Invitational with a narrow 3-2 loss to No. 6 Florida State. The Seminoles captured early wins on courts five and four before Allen and Demirjian put Boise State on the board with a 21-19, 21-17 victory on court three. Florida State clinched the dual with a win on court one, while Anderson and Wolden closed out the match with a three-set comeback, 15-21, 21-19, 15-12, on court two.

LSU took control early, winning the opening matches on courts five and four. Allen and Demirjian earned Boise State's lone point via forfeit on court three, but LSU secured the dual with victories on courts two and one.

Notables

Ava Anderson and Addison Wolden became the program leaders in career wins as a duo, ending the weekend with 30. The previous record was 29 held by Sharli O'Neil and current Bronco Elli Wolthuis.
Ava Anderson moved into third place in program history with 71 career victories, tied with Sierra Land. She trails Rorianna Chartier's 74 career victories, and the program leader Emilia Guerra-Acuna (84).
Avery Allen and Keira Demirjian went undefeated on the weekend, boasting a 4-0 record at the No. 3 spot.
Allen has 19 career victories on court three, passing Ava Anderson and Abbie Wolf for fourth place.

What's Next
The Broncos will compete in a Big 12 event for the first time at the Big 12 Preview, March 27-28 in Fort Worth, Texas.
