BOISE, Idaho – Marissa Gonzalez collected three extra-base hits and four RBI to lead Boise State past Portland State 8-1, Thursday at the Blue Collar Classic.

Earlier in the day, Gonzalez homered in the Broncos' home opener, a 5-1 loss to Cal Baptist.

Against the Vikings (7-10), Gonzalez gave the Broncos a 1-0 lead with an RBI-ground out in the first.

In the second, Quinn Southerland doubled the lead with a sacrifice fly. Skylar Stroh followed with a two-run single and scored on a double by Gonzalez.

Leading 5-1 after five innings, Boise State blew the game open with a three-run sixth. Stroh plated one with a two-out single and Gonzalez knocked in two more with a triple.

In the loss to the Lancers (18-6), the Broncos issued three leadoff walks and all three scored.

NOTES

Redshirt senior Marissa Gonzalez finished the day 4-for-7 with two doubles, a triple, a home run and five RBI.
Skylar Stroh was 3-for-4 with three RBI and two runs against Portland State.
Freshman Loula-Rae McNamara appeared in both games and pitched 3 2/3 innings of shutout ball…earned a seven-out save against Portland State.
