POCATELLO, Idaho – Boise State could not overcome an early deficit and lost 5-3 at Idaho State, Tuesday.

Kate Penberthy was 2-for-2 with a double, home run, two RBI and two walks for the Broncos (20-26).

Former Bronco Sydney Groves hit a three-run home run in the first inning for the Bengals (30-16) and former Boise State pitcher Kasey Aguinaga pitched two innings in relief to earn the victory.

After trailing 5-0, Boise State tallied twice in the fifth on RBI-doubles by Skylar Stroh and Penberthy. A solo home run in the seventh by Penberthy provided the game's final run.
