Kurata and Velik Named to Mountain West All-Tournament Team

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Taiyo Kurata and Lukas Velik earned Mountain West All-Tournament honors, the conference announced Thursday.

Kurata was selected at No. 6 singles, while Velik received recognition at No. 5 singles.

The Broncos recorded their most singles selections since 2024, when Boise State had three honorees.

Kurata captured his second career all-tournament selection, first in singles, after posting a perfect 3-0 record at the No. 6 position, winning every match in straight sets. He now ties Sam Sippel for the most career all-tournament selections by a Bronco and matches Utah State's Roman Venger for the most in Mountain West history.

Velik earned the first all-tournament honor of his career, also going a perfect 3-0 at No. 5 singles with all three victories coming in straight sets. His performance helped lead the Broncos to a championship appearance. Velik also becomes the youngest Bronco to receive the honor since its inception in 2024.
