BOISE, Idaho – Boise State blasted four home runs and routed San Jose State 11-2 in five innings, Thursday night at Dona Larsen Park.

Needing a win to stay alive for a berth in next week's Mountain West Championship, the Broncos (23-30, 9-14 MW) scored seven times in the first inning and cruised from there.

Sophia Romero led off the home half of the first with her second home run of the season. Four batters later, Marissa Gonzalez laced a three-run home run for a 4-0 lead.

After the next three players reached, Talia Jenkins plated a run with a sacrifice fly. An error by San Jose State (15-31, 7-16) allowed another run to score and Skylar Stroh capped the rally with an RBI-single.

Gonzalez added a two-run home run in the second and Mya Flindt ended the game with a two-run tater in the fifth.
