Broncos Make Two Stops on Four-Game Road Trip

Boise State (18-23, 4-8 Mountain West) makes two stops on a four-game road trip...plays a doubleheader at Utah State (April 8) and a two-game series at Grand Canyon (April 10-11).

LAST WEEK
Boise State was swept at home by New Mexico...after losing the opener 6-1, the Broncos went extra innings before a seven-run eighth earned the Lobos a 9-2 win...series finale was a one-run margin until New Mexico put the game away with a three-run seventh for a 6-2 victory.

Boise State has won 303 games since the beginning of the 2017 season, most by a Mountain West school in that span with the exception of conference newcomer Grand Canyon...220 of the wins have come away from home, most in the MW...Broncos have six 30-plus win seasons over the last nine years...have won at least 32 games in each of the last four seasons, only MW school to accomplish the feat...captured the regular-season title in 2018 and 2023, tied the school record for wins with 40 in 2022, finished runner-up at the MW Championship in 2024, and earned NCAA regional bids in 2018 (automatic) and 2019 (at-large).

LOULA-RAE SAVES THE DAY
Loula-Rae McNamara is second in the NCAA with 32 pitching appearances...tied for sixth nationally with four saves...recorded two saves with six innings of no-hit work in a doubleheader sweep at Sacramento State, March 17...first Bronco to save both ends of a doubleheader since Kelsey Broadus, March 27, 2018...added wins in relief against Fresno State, March 20 and March 21 to earn Mountain West Pitcher of the Week and Freshman of the Week honors...finished the week 2-0 with two saves, a 0.57 ERA and 0.57 WHIP in 12 1/3 innings with eight strikeouts.

SKY(LAR)'S THE LIMIT
Junior second baseman Skylar Stroh leads Boise State with 35 RBI...hit game-winning three-run home run at No. 10 Stanford, Feb. 21...has seven doubles and four home runs for a slugging percentage of .469...eight RBI prior to 2025.

CIRCLE OF ROSE
Against FDU, Feb. 13, Julianne Rose fired a one-hit shutout with a career-high 10 strikeouts...retired 17 straight hitters over two games, Feb. 13-14.

CONFERENCE AWARD
Charley Duran was named Mountain West Co-Freshman of the Week (Feb. 5-8) after going 2-0 with a 0.66 in four appearances...three shutout innings of relief in win over No. 14 Mississippi...four-plus innings in first-collegiate start and reentered to record final six outs in win at Cal State Fullerton.

RECORD-SETTING PERFORMANCE
Boise State set a school record with 16 runs in an inning (seventh) against CSUN, Feb. 7...sophomore Chloe Hughes became the first Bronco to reach base three times in an inning...tied school records for hits (22) and doubles (seven) against the Matadors.

TRIPLE PLAY
Against No. 14 Mississippi, Feb. 6, Boise State recorded a triple play in the sixth inning (first in school history)...Hollie Farmer fielded a ground ball at third base, stepped on the bag and threw across the diamond to Kate Penberthy at first for the second out...Penberthy then threw to second baseman Skylar Stroh who tagged out the runner from first.

RANKED WINS
Boise State defeated No. 14 Mississippi 3-2, Feb. 6 and won 5-4 at No. 10 Stanford, Feb. 21...prior to this season the Broncos had not defeated a team ranked higher than 20th.

IT IS NEVER TOO LATE
Boise State has scored 84 of its 182 runs this season in the fifth inning or later...scored 69 runs with two outs.
