Broncos Drop Bengals

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State soccer defeated Idaho State 3-1 Sunday afternoon.
 
The Broncos (3-1-1) outshot the Bengals (1-2-2) 15-6 and extended their home unbeaten streak to 10 matches.
 
Boise State controlled the opening minutes, with Campbell Wilson recording the first shot on goal in the 10th minute. The Broncos broke through in the 19th minute when Sophie Schmautz found the bottom-left corner to give Boise State a 1-0 lead.
 
Boise State's defense held the Bengals without a shot on goal in the first half. The Broncos led 5-2 in shots at the break.
 
Boise State added to its lead in the 50th minute when Wilson fired a shot into the top-right corner. Three minutes later, Schmautz scored again to complete her brace, with Wilson providing the assist.
 
Idaho State got on the board in the 88th minute when Saydree Cooke scored off an assist from Samantha Fenske, but the Bengals could not close the gap as Boise State earned the victory.
