BOISE, Idaho – Boise State swept Eastern Washington 3-0 in the final day of the Boise State Invitational in ExtraMile Arena.

Amelia Hansen earned Boise State Invitational MVP after collecting 21 kills and 17 blocks during the tournament. Sydney Dreves, Tehya Maeva and Azlynn Tittmann were named to the all-tournament team.

Savannah Sheridan tallied three aces in a row to start the Broncos (6-4) off in set one against the Eagles (6-3). Dreves followed with a kill to lead 4-0. The Eagles were able to put up a couple points on the board off attacks and errors. Boise State scored four-straight points to lead the set 15-10. The Blue and Orange continued to use a balanced attack with 12 kills and 12 assists, which led to a set one win, 25-16.

In set two, the two teams swapped scores at the start until Dreves tallied a kill to lead by four. Sheridan collected her fourth service ace of the day and Dreves, Hansen, Kendall Hastings, Giselle Paedon, Tittmann and Reese Weinert sustained the Broncos' dominating presence at the net with 15 kills and two blocks during the set. Boise State secured set two, 25-19.

At the start of set three, the Broncos and Eagles were back and forth. Boise State took control of the set 10-9 with a kill from Sadie Snyder. Eastern Washington scored three points in a row to take the lead, but the Blue and Orange returned the fire by scoring five-consecutive points. Paedon locked down the sweep with a kill, 25-22.

Kendall Hastings powered the offense and led the team with 10 kills.
Reese Weinert recorded a team high in blocks (5).
Melia Barlow led the team with 22 digs.
Tehya Maeva tallied a team-high 24 assists.
Savannah Sheridan led the team with four service aces.

Notables

Sydney Dreves added nine kills and Giselle Paedon followed with seven.
Kendall Hastings recorded a .562 hitting percentage off of 10 kills. Additionally, she notched double-digit kills in a match for the second time this season.
Tehya Maeva put up her third match of the season with 20-plus assists.
Melia Barlow recorded her third match of the season with 20-plus digs.
Savannah Sheridan racked up a career-high four service aces.
Reese Weinert tallied her second match in a row with five blocks, also matching her career high.
The Blue and Orange matched its season high in service aces (9).
The Broncos tallied its third-straight sweep of the Boise State Invitational and sixth sweep of the season.
All of Boise State's wins this season have been sweeps.

"I'm really pleased with the results this week," head coach Shawn Garus said. "Our team continues to improve. We got challenged, and we overcame that a little bit. We were able to win a couple of close sets, which I think we will need moving forward."

"I'm excited for next week's tournament at Idaho State," Garus said. "There's three teams that we have some familiarity with. A rematch against Idaho State, the Wyoming team that we've played for years and the Pacific team we haven't seen since the postseason years ago.
