Hastings Secures Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week

BOISE, Idaho – Boise State volleyball senior Kendall Hastings secured Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday.
The Sequim, Wash., native recorded a career-high 10 blocks and led the Broncos to post a season high of 14 blocks against Gonzaga. Additionally, she racked up 14.5 points and a .211 hitting percentage versus the Bulldogs.
Hastings is currently ranked third in the conference in blocks with 68 total and an average of 1.39 blocks per set. She is listed as high as ninth in the conference with a .304 hitting percentage.
The conference honor marks the third Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week this season for the Broncos and the first of Hastings' career. Amelia Hansen was tabbed Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 15 and Melia Barlow was named the conference's first Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 1.
Boise State holds the most Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week honors in the conference. The Blue and Orange also have the highest number of student-athletes that have received a conference weekly honor.
Boise State volleyball will host San Diego State on Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. and Texas State on Oct. 3 at 12 p.m. in Bronco Gym.
