2016-17: CROSS COUNTRY - Did not compete…INDOOR – Picked up valuable experience in the middle distances by competing in four indoor meets…third in the 800m at the Jacksons Open with a 2:03.54…took fourth at the Ed Jacoby Invitational in the 1,000m (2:39.99), also helped the DMR team to a 10:16.41…11th at the Bronco Invitational in the mile thanks to a 4:38.75…ran a leg on the DMR team to clock a 10:19.76 at the Jacksons/NB Indoor Invitational for second place…OUTDOOR – Kicked off his season at the Sun Angel Classic and took 29th in the 800m…seventh in the 1,500m at the NNU Invitational in a season-best 4:12.29…logged another top-10 finish at the Border Clash courtesy of a 4:15.48 for 10th place.

PREP: Matt McDonald was named an honorable mention All-Area cross country athlete his senior season at Air Academy High School by the Colorado Springs Gazette. He made it to the cross country state meet in both his junior and senior seasons. For track and field, he enjoyed podium finishes at the state meet in the 800m and 1,600m his last prep season.
