Marisa Howard enters her first season as a volunteer assistant coach after compiling three All-America honors over the course of a five-year career on the Boise State cross country and track and field teams. She graduated in June 2015 with having received the Mountain West's nomination for the 2015 Woman of the Year award.
Howard's best performance at an NCAA Championship came at the 2014 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships when she took second in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:43.82, giving her the first All-America honor of her career.
She followed that up with a 28th-place performance at the 2014 NCAA Cross Country Championships to help the Broncos finish in 11th place in the team standings in what was the women's program's first appearance at nationals in school history.
Most recently she capped off her collegiate career with another exceptional performance in the 3,000m steeplechase at the 2015 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, taking fourth place in 9:37.84 to make her the sixth-fastest collegian in NCAA history.
In total, she finished her Boise State career with four individual Mountain West Championships and 11 All-Mountain West Championships. In the classroom she concluded her academic career with a 3.84 grade-point average and graduated with Magna Cum Laude distinction after making the Dean's List in seven semesters at Boise State.
