BOISE STATE TENURE

Diego Castillo joined the Boise State coaching staff in the fall of 2024 as the assistant coach. He assists with the daily operations of the program, coaching and recruiting.

In year one the team reach the 20-win mark for the third consecutive season going 21-6 and finished the year ranked No. 42. The Blue and Orange repeated as MW Regular Season Champion and advance to the NCAA Championship where Boise State fell at No. 11 California in the opening round. During the season the team recorded an upset victory over then-22nd-ranked Michigan State to go with notable wins over Indiana, VCU, Wichita State, Denver and No. 49 Washington.

PRIOR TO BOISE STATE

Boise State is the first collegiate coaching experience of his young career after graduating from the University of California Santa Barbara in the spring of 2024 with a degree in sociology. He coached at the Millbrook Golf and Tennis Club in Millbrook, New York, during the summer of 2024.

COLLEGIATE PLAYING CAREER

Played collegiately at UC Santa Barbara where he was a three-year letterwinner for the Gauchos, and served as team captain for his senior season. During his junior year, the Gauchos were ranked as high as 26th nationally, and won the Big West Conference regular season and tournament championships, to advance to the NCAA Championship tournament. He played his freshman season for coach Luke Shields at Fresno State before the program was eliminated.
