Mattie Snow

BOISE STATE TENURE

Mattie Snow is in her third season as an assistant coach at Boise State after being hired on July 19, 2018, reuniting her with head coach Maggie Huffaker after both were on the staff at Utah from 2014-17. Snow serves as the Broncos' pitching coach.

In Snow’s first season on the staff, Boise State’s pitchers combined for an ERA of 3.21 — the third-best mark in program history. Boise State limited its extra-base hits to allow opponents only 51 doubles and 33 home runs — the lowest totals in school history.

In addition, the team went 36-16 overall and advanced to the NCAA Championship on an at-large bid. The Broncos reached the regional final after defeating Stanford twice, which included the program’s first NCAA Championship victory in history. Five student-athletes earned All-Mountain West honors, while three received NFCA All-Region accolades.

Unfortunately, her second season at Boise State in 2020 was cut short because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Broncos finished their abbreviated season at 14-11 overall. Three student-athletes, Bradie Fillmore, Karlee Johnson and Alison Seng, received postseason All-MW honors.

BOISE STATE ACCOMPLISHMENTS

As a part of head coach Huffaker’s staff, their accomplishments at Boise State include: one NCAA Regional appearance and one NCAA regional championship appearance; two winning seasons; student-athletes have earned three NFCA All-Region honors, eight All-MW accolades. Academically, the team has earned one NFCA Academic Team Award, nine NFCA All-America Scholar-Athlete accolades, 29 Academic All-MW and 20 MW Scholar-Athlete (3.5 or better cumulative GPA) honors.

PREVIOUS COACHING EXPERIENCE

Snow joined the program after spending the 2018 season as the pitching coach at Weber State. There, she coached Kirtlyn Bohling to first-team All-Big Sky honors, as the senior posted 134 strikeouts with a 2.81 ERA. As a staff, the Wildcats combined for 199 strikeouts in 347.2 innings, with an ERA of 3.44.

Prior to her arrival at Weber State, Snow worked as a graduate assistant and camp director at Utah from 2014-17. While at Utah, Snow assisted program operations during the most impressive stretch in program history when the Utes made three-straight NCAA Regional appearances and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional twice.

PERSONAL

Snow earned her masters in exercise and sport science at the University of Utah in 2017. While completing her masters, Snow also worked as a sports psychology consultant with the university.

She had a dominant career at Division II Dixie State as a pitcher all four years. Dixie State reached four NCAA Division II tournaments, won one NCAA tournament west region championship and finished third at the Women’s College World Series in 2014. In addition, Dixie State claimed three PacWest co-championships.
