Andy Green enters his third season working with the Boise State track and field program as a volunteer assistant in 2018-19. Green assists Gavin O'Neal with the program's sprinters and horizontal jumpers.
Green comes to the Treasure Valley from Minot State University in Minot, N.D., where he served as an assistant coach for sprints, jumps and hurdles in the 2016 season. Prior to his stint at Minot State, Green served as the head track and field and cross country coach at Sammanish High School in Bellevue, Wash., from 2012-15.
During his tenure, Sammamish qualified 18 athletes for the Washington State Track and Field Championships with four of those athletes earning all-state honors. Additionally, in 2014, Sammamish qualified a boys cross country team for the state championships for the first time in more than 20 seasons.
Green was also a standout student-athlete at the University of Redlands from 2008-11. During his four-year career, he earned 20 All-SCIAC (Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic conference) honors, eight NCAA national qualifying marks, and two All-American honors (400m dash and 4x100m relay).
