2016-17: INDOOR – Specialized in the weight throw in her first indoor season as a Bronco…recorded her second-best throw of the year at the Boise State Challenge, recording a 36-0.75 (10.99m) for 17th place…posted a 35-5.75 (10.81m) at the Jacksons/NB Boise Indoor Invitational…went for a 31-8.75 (9.67m) at the Bronco Invitational…logged another top-20 finish at the Ed Jacoby Invitational thanks to a 31-6 (9.60m) for 18th place…best finish of the year and PR came at the Jacksons Open where she went 36-5 (11.10m)for eighth place…OUTDOOR – Opened the year at the NNU Invitational and took 10th place in the hammer throw after recording a 113-7 (34.62m)…competed in both the hammer throw (118-10 / 36.23m) and discus throw (94-9 / 28.88m), good for 14th and 12th place, respectively.

Paige Shepherd will bolster the Broncos’ throwing group, specializing in specifically the discus and shot put. She took 10th in the discus at the 2016 Idaho 3A State Championships, just two weeks after she recorded her PR (104-10) at the New Plymouth Invitational. Shepherd was also seventh at the 3A District III Championship her senior season thanks to a 29-0.
