COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Boise State's James Meredith has been selected as the Mountain West Men's Tennis Player of the Week for the stretch of March 18-25.

Meredith, a product of Christchurch, New Zealand, went a combined 5-0 last weekend as Boise State picked up victories against Ball State (W, 5-1), Southern Mississippi (W, 6-1) and 73rd-ranked UAB (W, 6-1) at the 2012 Boise State Spring Break Classic. The redshirt junior went 3-0 at the top of the singles lineup, with each win coming in straight sets. Meredith began the tournament by defeating Ball State's Dalton Albertin (6-0, 6-2) and Southern Mississippi's Paulo Alvarado (6-1, 6-1), before concluding the event by downing UAB's Danny Manlow (6-3, 6-3). In doubles play, Meredith went 2-0, partnering with teammate Erik Sheldon to take down Michael Elortegui and Kieren Thompson of Southern Miss, 8-5, before pairing with Nathan Sereke to defeat David Zimmerman and Tom Puetz, 8-3.

Meredith joins teammate Andy Bettles as the only two Broncos to earn the honor this season. Bettles was named player of the week for his performance from Jan. 31-Feb. 7.

The Broncos will look to continue what is a 20-match home winning streak when they host No. 48 San Diego State, Thursday at 1:30 p.m., and No. 26 Fresno State, Saturday at 11 a.m.
