Lamb Plays Against USA, Mancha Earns Honor

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Boise State junior-to-be Morgan Lamb competed against the US Women's softball team, Thursday night at Raley Field, in an exhibition doubleheader with the Sacramento All-Stars team.
The Sacramento All-Stars team is comprised of collegiate softball players with ties to the Sacramento region. Lamb is a native of Elk Grove, Calif., a suburb south of Sacramento.
Team USA won both games of the doubleheader, 10-0 and 7-0. Lamb was the starting catcher for the Sacramento All-Stars in the first game, and did not play in the second.
Lamb was 0-for-2 from behind the plate.
Lamb projects as the starting catcher for the Broncos for the 2018 season. As a sophomore, she earned second-team All-Mountain West honors after batting .351 and adding six home runs.
BOISE, Idaho - Boise State's incoming freshman class continues to rack up honors. Gianna Mancha (Fresno, Calif./Central HS), a RHP and shortstop, was named to first-team All-State by CalHiSports.com, Wednesday.
Mancha was one of six multi-purpose players to make the 30-member team of some of the best prep softball players in California. She excelled for Central HS, finishing the season with a 17-4 record with 0.73 ERA in the circle, while batting .478 with 22 RBIs from behind the plate.
The incoming freshman had a 21 strikeout performance in a seven inning game, and had two wins as the starting pitcher against eventual D1 section champion, Clovis HS.
