The Boise State women’s golf team finished in fourth place at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, Tuesday at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club.

TACOMA, Wash. – The Boise State women's golf team finished in fourth place at the Pat Lesser Harbottle Invitational, Tuesday at the Tacoma Country and Golf Club. The Broncos shot 904 (308-307-289, +40), while leading the field with two eagles.

The 1-over 289 shot by the Broncos in the third round was the lowest score of any team in the field.

"Today was so much better for us," head coach Nicole Bird said. "Today we were ready for the cold and made sure to hit extra club until it warmed up. We also hit a lot better off the tee and put ourselves in good position to hit it close and make more birdies."

Boise State placed three scorers in the top 25, including one in top 10. Senior Tara Finigan ended the tournament in a tie for sixth place, just two strokes back of a tie for fourth place. Finigan ended with a score of 220 (75-75-70, +4), and was second in the field in par-5 scoring (4.67).

Alejandra Lobelo and Lexi Perry both tied for fourth in par-3 scoring, averaging 2.83 strokes. Perry finished in a tie for 15th place, scoring 224 (77-77-70, +8). Her third round was also the best of her collegiate career. Lobelo shot 226 (76-77-73, +10) to finish in a tie for 24th.

"Lexi and Tara played really solid today, and it was great to see the team come together," Bird said. "I'm proud of Lexi for shooting her college low round on this course, and we had the low round of the entire tournament today, so that shows us we can compete with any team out there. We just need to put all three rounds together."

Nicole Suppelsa shot 234 (80-78-76, +18) to round out Boise State's scoring. Junior Valentine Lacaze concluded the lineup with a score of 241 (81-82-78, +25)

The Broncos will return to action in two weeks at the UC Irvine Invitational, Oct. 29-30, in Santa Ana, Calif.
