Widen Signs Blake Bayldon for Fall 2019

BOISE, Idaho - Kristian Widen, Boise State Head Men's Tennis Coach, announced today that Blake Bayldon has sign a financial aid agreement to play for the Broncos starting in the fall of 2019. Bayldon is currently at Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla., where he helped the Buccaneers to a second-place finish at the 2018 NCAA DII National Championship last spring. He will complete his sophomore season for Barry this spring before transferring to Boise State next fall when he will be a junior in eligibility. 

Bayldon is a native of Dural, New South Wales, Australia, where he holds a top-100 national ranking. He won men's singles and doubles titles at the Victorian Grasscourt Championships prior to starting college. Bayldon captained the New South Wales State Team to a national championship in 2016 and was selected for the Australian All-Star Team.

As a freshman at Barry (2017-18), Bayldon went 13-3 in singles and 19-7 in doubles. He split time in singles between the four, five and six positions, while in doubles he played primarily at No. 2 with five different partners. 

Finished freshman season with three-consecutive singles wins at the NCAA DII National Championship recording victories in the quarterfinal, semifinal and championship matches playing at the No. 5 position. Brayldon helped the Barry Buccaneers to the Sunshine State Conference and the NCAA DII South Regional championships, as well as a NCAA DII national runner-up finish.
