BOISE, Idaho - The Boise State softball team turned in a great pitching effort for the second-straight game, but ended up on the wrong side of a one-run game for the second-straight day. The Broncos dropped game two of a three game series to UNLV, 2-1 Saturday at Dona Larsen Park.

Kelsey Broadus struck out five batters in 7.0 innings, but gave up a double with two outs and the bases loaded in the top of the seventh that ultimately led to the loss for Boise State (27-13, 6-5 MW). This is Broadus' eighth complete game of the season.

The Broncos scored their first run of the series after dropping a 1-0 contest on Friday night, on a sacrifice fly to right field from Justene Molina, giving Jessica McKay plenty of time to score from right field.

Boise State would threaten in the bottom of the sixth, loading the bases with zero outs in the inning. Micaela Leal would come on to pinch hit, but grounded into a 1-2-3 double play for two outs. Molina would line out to right field on the next at-bat to end the inning and strand two.

McKay led the Broncos with a double and two hits in three at-bats, while Madison Anthony would also add another double in the game - Boise State's only two extra-base hits of the game.

The Broncos will have a chance to close the series out with a win tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 11:50 a.m.
