BOISE, Idaho – Newly hired Boise State head softball coach Maggie Livreri announced her coaching staff Friday, hiring Andrew Rich and Mattie Snow to be her assistant coaches.

Rich comes to the Broncos from Sonoma State, and will also serve as the program's recruiting coordinator. Snow, who will be Boise State's pitching coach, spent last season at Weber State in the same role.

"I am so happy to welcome two new coaches to our staff who are incredible people, and are also amazing coaches," Livreri said. "They are both eager to get started and join the Bronco family. They will hit the ground running recruiting immediately, and will be excited to get on the field with the Broncos right away when school starts this fall."

Rich joined Division II Sonoma State prior to the 2017 season, and helped lead the Seawolves to a 65-42 record the past two years, along with an appearance in the NCAA Tournament. Sonoma State also landed three players on All-CCAA teams in 2018.

"Andrew Rich has been someone who is ready for the next opportunity, and I am thrilled to give him the chance to work at the Division I level," Livreri said. "He has been a tremendously hard worker at Sonoma State, and has additionally been a part of a championship team in the Mountain West Conference. He brings a diverse knowledge, with experience in both baseball and softball, and will help us immediately as our recruiting coordinator. He's been a fantastic recruiter in his time at Sonoma State and has a great reputation among the travel ball circuit."

Rich also has experience in the Mountain West, serving as an undergraduate assistant coach and assistant director of operations with Fresno State during the 2016 season. The Bulldogs were named the NFCA Pacific Region Coaching Staff of the Year that season, as they won 42 games while defending their conference title.

Prior to earning his degree in kinesiology, Rich spent five seasons as an assistant coach at the high school level, along with four years coaching at the club level.

On his hiring Rich said, "I am extremely grateful for the opportunity that coach Livreri has given me to join her staff here at Boise State. I've always had my eye on what's happening in Boise and can't wait to be a part of this university. I'm excited to get to work with our student-athletes and continue to build on the foundation that has been set by Boise State softball."

This will mark a reunion for Snow and Livreri, as the former served as a graduate assistant and camp director at Utah from 2014-17 while earning her Masters in Exercise and Sport Science.

Snow joins the Broncos after spending the 2018 season as Weber State's pitching coach, coaching Kirtlyn Bohling to first-team All-Big Sky honors, as the senior posted 134 strikeouts with a 2.81 ERA. As a staff, the Wildcats combined for 199 strikeouts in 347.2 innings, with an ERA of 3.44.

"I want to thank Coach Maggs and Boise State for giving me this spectacular opportunity to become a Bronco and enhance not only the softball community, but the entire city of Boise and the university," Snow said. "We have got a great staff, and I cannot wait to see what is in store for us."

While at Utah, Snow assisted with the Utes' operations during the most impressive stretch in program history. During her time in Salt Lake City, Utah made three-straight NCAA Regional appearances, and advanced to the NCAA Super Regional twice.  While completing her Masters, Snow also worked as a sports psychology consultant with the university.

Snow had a dominant career at Division II Dixie State as a pitcher all four years. Dixie State reached four NCAA Division II Regional rounds, won an NCAA Division II West Regional and three PacWest co-championships, and finished third at the Division II Women's College World Series in 2014.

"Mattie brings a wealth of knowledge to the battery as our new pitching coach," Livreri said. "Coming from a background in sports psychology, and having worked with great pitchers, catchers and coaches at the University of Utah and Weber State, Mattie is well prepared to lead the Broncos in the circle. She is a determined, hard worker, and takes great initiative. She will be a fantastic mentor and example to our student-athletes, and I can't wait for our team to meet her and get to know her."
