Broncos Begin MW Defense Saturday At Wyoming

BOISE, Idaho -Â The Boise State football team, ranked No. 25 in the Amway Coaches Poll, will travel to Laramie, Wyo., to open its conference slate against Wyoming, Saturday (Sept. 29). The Broncos (2-1) and Cowboys (2-2) are slated to kick off at 5 p.m., at War Memorial Stadium, and the game will be nationally televised on CBS Sports Network.
Boise State and Wyoming are each coming off a bye week.
CONFERENCE OPENERS: Boise State has won 18-consecutive conference openers since a loss in 1999, when the Broncos fell 17-10 to North Texas (Oct. 16) as a member of the Big West. The Broncos are 35-13 all-time in conference openers, including a mark of 16-10 when playing such games on the road.
Boise State hasn't opened its conference slate on the road since 2012, when the Broncos took down New Mexico, 32-29 (Sept. 29).
The Broncos have won their first MW road game of the season each of the last three years, averaging 40.3 points per game in each victory.
WITH EXTRA TIME: Under Bryan Harsin, Boise State is 17-6 with more than seven days between games, including season openers and bowl games. Within the regular season, Boise State is 10-4 in such games.
ALL OF THE SCORING: Boise State has 10 different offensive players that have scored touchdowns, a total that ranks tied for sixth nationally with Alabama, Oklahoma State, Syracuse and Texas Tech. Ohio State (14), Oregon (12), Boston College (12), Miami (12) and Oklahoma (11) are the only schools in the country with more. If you add Tyler Horton's scores on defense, the Broncos have 11 different players that have scored touchdowns. That mark is tied for 10th nationally.
GOING FOR WIN NO. 200 SINCE 2000: Boise State remains at 199 wins since the start of the 2000 season after Sept. 15's loss at Oklahoma State, and gets its second chance at No. 200 this Saturday at Wyoming. The Broncos, the co-winningest team in college football since 2000, with 199 wins, are tied with Oklahoma (199 entering this weekend) and two ahead of Ohio State (197 entering this weekend).
CONFERENCE DOMINANCE: Over the past five years, Boise State has posted a regular-season record of 31-9 (.775) against its Mountain West counterparts. The winning percentage ranks tied for eighth nationally with Appalachian State. Only Ohio State (39-3; .929), Alabama (36-4; .900), Clemson (35-5; .875), Wisconsin (35-7; .833), Oklahoma (37-8; .822), Northern Illinois (32-8; .800) and Arkansas State (31- 8; .795) have a better league record over the course of the last five years.
