Boise State wins 15 of the 16 events in defeating Idaho.

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State swimming and diving won 15 of 16 events Saturday morning as the Broncos cruised past instate-rival Idaho 221-78 at the West Family YMCA and Boise City Aquatic Center. Eleven different Broncos won event titles led by senior Robin Pinger and sophomore Marti Erlam who won two apiece. The victory over the Vandals extended the Broncos' home win streak in dual meets to 26 straight dating back to Oct. 17, 2009.

"The whole weekend was really solid for us, I'm really happy with how we came out and competed," said head coach Christine Mabile. "We had two good teams that we were competitive with at home this weekend and the girls did a good job competing not only against the other teams but among themselves as well, pushing each other to be better. Today we had some fun class relays that did well and were exciting to watch."

Pinger won two races Saturday taking the title in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 23.87, then swam a 2:21.21 to win the 200-yard breaststroke. On the weekend, she won four races, two each against Wyoming on Friday and Idaho today.

For the second day in a row Erlam swept both diving events taking the 3-meter springboard with a score of 316.35, then claimed the 1-meter springboard by 52 points tallying 302.63. She scored 300 or better in all four of her diving events this weekend.

Boise State also dominated both relay races against th Vandals sweeping the top-three places in both events. The Broncos sophomore team made up of Madesyn Ronquillio, Lauren Yon, Kaitlyn McCoy and Lauren Vitort won the 200-yard medley relay by finishing in 1:47.23. They were followed by the freshmen team (Martina Andrasek, Anahi Schreuders, Beatriz Zoppei and Emma Brady) with a 1:47.43 good for second and the senior squad (Georgia Zacest, Pinger, Jamie Nats and Emmie Jennings) in third with a 1:47.54.

The 200-yard free relay was won by the Boise State senior team of Pinger, Nats, Jennings and Ally Schultz clocking a time of 1:37.20. They were followed by the Bronco juniors (Madison Frederick, Brittany Wen, Lauren Sale and Molly Hogg) recording a 1:38.56 to place second, while the freshmen (Zoppei, Schreuders, Carly Palmer, Brady) took third at 1:39.03.

Boise State won all five freestyle races with Hayley Hill taking the 1,000 free with a 10:30.28, Lucia Davis (1:54.64) won the 200 free, Pinger (23.87) the 50 free, Jennings (53.10) claimed the 100 free, while Brady (5:07.77) won the 500 free.

The Broncos also claimed both backstroke races led by Hogg's win in the 100 back on a 56.60, while Ronquillio swam a 2:01.74 for victory in the 200 back.

Zoppei clocked a 2:07.51 to place first in the 200-yard butterfly. Wen also won swimming the butterfly claiming the title in the 100 fly with a 57.11 as the Broncos swept both races.

OTHER NOTABLES

3-Meter Springboard: Boise State claimed the top-two places in this event which Erlam won, but she was followed by Tatum Thompkins in second with a 282.15.
1,000-yard Freestyle: Hill won this event while Schultz took second with a 10:39.73.
200-yard Freestyle: The Broncos took the top-three places with Davis winning it followed by Frederick (1:54.70) in second and Nats (1:57.42) who placed third.
100-yard Backstroke: This event was dominated by the Blue and Orange led by Hogg's victory, she was backed up by Ronquillio (56.80), Sale (58.26) and McCoy (58.38) as the Broncos claimed the top-four spots.
100-yard Breaststroke: Palmer (1:07.21) led the Broncos in the 100 breast placing second, followed by Schreuders (1:07.97) who took third, as the freshmen duo made an impact in the event.
50-yard Freestyle: Boise State went one through three in this event led by Pinger's victory, Vitort (24.26) and Jennings (24.29) took the next two places.
100-yard Freestyle: The Broncos also swept the top-three places in the 100 free with Jennings winning it while Frederick (53.44) took second and Wen (53.46) placed third.
200-yard Backstroke: Boise State's domination in the backstrokes continued in the 200 back as it claimed the first four places led by Ronquillio who won it, followed by Hogg (2:02.87), Sale (2:03.73) and Andrasek (2:05.15), respectively.
200-yard Breaststroke: Pinger won this event, but she was followed by Palmer (2:28.26) who took third.
500-yard Freestyle: The top-four places went to the Broncos led by Brady who was followed by Davis (5:11.02), Nats (5:11.21) and Yon (5:16.72).
400-yard Individual Medley: McCoy claimed this race out pacing teammate Lauren Vitort who clocked a 4:35.49.
