The Boise State women's tennis team hit a rough patch on day two of the ITA Mountain Region Championships, ending their run through the tournament.

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Lilian Poling and Joana Baptista had their runs cut short in the Round of 32 on Thursday at the ITA Mountain Region Championships in Las Vegas, Nev.

Both Baptista and Poling had advanced to today's second round following wins in yesterday's matches, but Thursday would prove to be more of a challenge for the two Broncos. Baptista took on third-seeded Camille Verden Anderson from Denver and was bested in two sets 6-1, 6-2, while Poling took a 6-3, 7-6 loss at the hands of Utah State's Lucy Octave.

In the Round of 32 in doubles, Poling and Baptista took on a duo from Colorado State, and lost in a tiebreaker 8-7 (2) to end their run together. Vanessa Timm and Mae McCutcheon also played a match in the Round of 32, falling to a pair of Lobos from New Mexico 6-3, 7-6.

The Broncos still have three players competing in the consolation singles bracket in McCutcheon, Timm and Ana Conde Vendrell. The three Broncos will resume action tomorrow from the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
