A UNIQUE WAY TO OPEN THE SEASON
- The Bronco women's tennis program will begin the spring team dual season with two matches this upcoming weekend against Seattle (Jan. 24th) and Idaho State (Jan. 26th).
- Both matches will be played simultaneously with the men's matches at the Eagle Tennis Club's 12 indoor courts, allowing fans to watch both Bronco programs at the same time and versus the same schools.
- This is the first time in program history that both teams will be playing their matches alongside each other.
- Seattle is 0-3 so far this season, but two of their losses have come against Pac-12 opponents No. 14 Washington and Washington State.
- Idaho State will be playing its first matches of the spring dual season as well, opening their 2020 campaign with a neutral-site match in Boise against Seattle on Saturday, Jan. 25th.
BRONCOS TO WATCH IN SINGLES
- Junior Vanessa Timm had an outstanding fall singles season, going 8-4 including a 6-1 stretch to open the year.
- Lilian Poling is set to begin her final season as a Bronco as the primary No. 1 singles option for the first time in her career. Poling competed in an ITF tournament in Lubbock, Texas, and the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Okla., last fall.
WHO TO WATCH IN DOUBLES
- Much has yet to be determined for the Bronco doubles lineup going into the season.
- Two Bronco freshmen played well in doubles this fall, as Ana Conde Vendrell went 6-2 and Joana Baptista finished 6-4.
POTENTIAL BRONCO DEBUTS
- There is a potential to see newcomer Holly Stewart of Auckland, New Zealand, this weekend. Stewart joined the Broncos this month after signing her National Letter of Intent in late November.
HEAD COACH BECK ROGHAAR
- Holds a career record of 106-92 and is only the second coach in program history to eclipse 100 career victories.
- Entering his tenth season at the helm of the Broncos, Roghaar has led his teams to six winning seasons as the man in charge.
- Was named the WAC Coach of the Year in 2011 and the Mountain West Women's Tennis Coach of the Year in 2018.
- Was a three-time ITA Academic All-American as a student-athlete at Boise State where he went 52-35 overall between 2003-05.
