LAST TIME OUT
Boise State closed out the Preseason WNIT last Friday with an 83-81 consolation game victory at UAB.
The Broncos fought back from an 11-point first-quarter deficit after the Blazers opened 6-for-6 from 3-point range.
Riley Lupfer scored 17 points and hit five 3-pointers, in the process becoming Boise State's all-time 3-point leader when she hit her 26st-career triple in the third quarter, passing Abby Vaughan's (1999-2003) mark of 260.
Redshirt junior Mallory McGwire hit a career-best four 3-pointers en route to a career-high 20 points.
WHO'S NEXT
Washington State (2-0) will be coming off of an 11-day break from action when it visits ExtraMile Arena for Wednesday's contest.
The Cougars have opened their season with wins over a pair of WCC teams in Pepperdine (85-48, Nov. 5) and BYU (67-50, Nov. 9).
Borislava Hristova leads the Cougars with 23.0 points per game, while shooting 43.8 percent from the field. Chanelle Molina is averaging 13.0 points and 6.5 rebounds a game while shooting 50.0 percent (11-for-22).
SERIES HISTORY
It's been a seesaw series between the Broncos and Cougars, with Washington State leading the all-time series, 19-20.
Last Dec. 1, the Cougars made 13 3-pointers, with Hristova making four and scoring 30 points, in a 95-71 win in Pullman.
LUPFER SETS CAREER 3s MARK
Senior guard Riley Lupfer became Boise State's all-time 3-point leader Nov. 15 at UAB with her triple with 3:22 to play in the third quarter.
The trey, the 261st of Lupfer's career, passed Abby Vaughan's (1999-2003) mark of 260, and, with five 3-pointers in the game, Lupfer now sits at 262 overall.
Lupfer's 262 career 3-pointers also have her fourth in Mountain West history. BYU's Erin Thorn (1999-2003) is the conference's career leader with 391.

STATEMENT WEEK
This week's slate offers a big opportunity for Boise State to grab some attention nationally, as well as some quality wins.
Along with facing a 2-0 Washington State, with a good win over BYU in hand, Boise State will head to No. 8/9 Louisville for a Sunday tip at 11 a.m. MT on ACC Network Extra.
HOT START FROM THE FIELD
Boise State has gotten off to a strong start from the field this season, shooting a combined 47.2 percent (128-271).
Through the first four games of the season, Boise State's lowest shooting percentage in a game was 42.9, in Nov. 8's 82-57 win over Portland State.
Riley Lupfer has been off to a great start, hitting at 51.1 percent overall and 44.7 percent (17-38) from 3-point range. Mallory McGwire leads the team at 58.7 percent from the floor, and is 6-for-10 (60.0 percent) from 3-point range, while sophomores Rachel Bowers (71.4 percent) and Jade Loville (51.5 percent) are shooting well off the bench.
FIRING UP THE 3s
Boise State has already attempted 110 3-pointers through just four games, connecting on 39 for a percentage of 35.5.
The Broncos have not hit less than eight triples in a game this season, and have twice hit 11 (Nov. 8 against Portland State, Nov. 15 at UAB).
Riley Lupfer leads the team with 17 triples, at a 44.7-percent clip, while Mallory McGwire is next at six.
FORGOT ABOUT RI
After hitting a program and Mountain West-record 122 3-pointers two seasons ago, and averaging 16.2 points a game, senior guard Riley Lupfer "only" made 67 triples and averaged 11.1 points a game as a junior.
Lupfer has been on a mission early on this season to prove to the naysayers that 2018-19 was but a small blip. Through the opening four games she's averaging 16.0 points and has hit 17 3-pointers at a 44.7-percent clip (17-for-38). Overall, she's shooting 51.1 percent (23-for-45) from the field, and has grabbed 3.3 rebounds a game.
MCGWIRE DEVELOPS HER 3-BALL
Redshirt junior center Mallory McGwire scored a career-high 19 points Nov. 10 against Missouri State, and it lasted all of one game as she bested it with 20 Nov. 15 at UAB.
The performance was aided by a new weapon in McGwire's arsenal: a deadly 3-point shot.
After only attempting one triple over her two seasons at Oregon, but displaying good range from up to 16-18 feet, McGwire has opened her debut Boise State season 6-for-10 from behind the arc. Last Friday at UAB, she hit a career-best four 3-pointers in just five attempts.
On the year, McGwire is second on the team with 15.0 points per game, and leads the Broncos in rebounding (8.0 rpg) and field-goal percentage (58.7).
THE HODGINS HUSTLE
Senior guard and 2019-20 Preseason Mountain West Player of the Year Braydey Hodgins showed signs of bouncing back from her first-week struggles last Friday in Birmingham.
Hodgins fought her way to the line for 11 free-throw attempts at UAB, making nine, and went 5-for-10 from the field to finish with a season-high 19 points.
Hodgins also had her drive working, especially in the final minute, when she drove and finished through traffic with 29 seconds left to put the Broncos up four, 81-77.
Hodgins is also making her mark on the hustle stats this season, averaging 4.5 rebounds and 5.40 assists per game.
