WHO'S NEXT
The Broncos will begin their final week of non-conference play Wednesday, hosting Western Oregon for a noon tip.
The Wolves, for whom Wednesday's game will be an exhibition, are 3-6 on the season, having most recently defeated Corban, 59-56, Monday night.
Keyonna Jones (11.2 ppg) leads the Wolves in scoring, followed by Shariah Green (9.7 ppg, 4.9 rpg).
SERIES HISTORY
The Broncos and Wolves will meet for the third time with Wednesday's clash. Boise State has captured each of the first two contests, with the most recent being a 76-40 win back on Nov. 13, 2009.
IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Boise State has found itself, as well as a handful of players, ranked fairly high in early national stat rankings through Dec. 16.
As a team, the Broncos rank third in assists (220). The Broncos' 45.7 field-goal percentage ranks 29th, and the team's 101 3-pointers are sixth in the country.
Individually, redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher leads the nation with 97 assists, and is second with 8.08 assists per game. Senior guard Riley Lupfer is second in the country with 45 3-pointers made, and third with 3.75 triples made per game.
FOURTH-QUARTER COMEBACKS
Boise State trailed Eastern Washington by 11 points (56-45) with 6:32 to play Sunday, and came all the way back, outscoring the Eagles, 18-5, to capture the 63-61 win.
It was just Boise State's second fourth-quarter comeback from a double-digit deficit since women's college basketball went to the four-quarter format in 2015-16. The first comeback from down double digits in the fourth came Feb. 15, 2017, at home against New Mexico. In that contest, Boise State twice trailed New Mexico by 10 in the final frame, first trailing, 51-41, to start the quarter, then 53-43 with 9:37 to play.
The Broncos went on to outscore the Lobos, 21-9, and capped the 64-62 win with Marijke Vanderschaaf's jumper with two seconds remaining.
Sunday's win at Eastern Washington also marked the team's first double-digit comeback in the second half of a contest since trailing Nevada, 46-36, with 6:02 left in the third quarter of the 2018 Mountain West Tournament Championship game on March 9, 2018.
HODGINS IN THE CLUTCH
In the final time that a Hodgins sister would be competing in the Boise State-Eastern Washington game, youngest sister Braydey provided the heroics.
The Bronco senior scored six of the final eight points of the game, capping Boise State's comeback from 11 down with a drive and layup with 2.2 seconds to play that accounted for the 63-61 final.
Hodgins finished the game with 17 points and three 3-pointers, and went a perfect 6-for-6 from the line, with all free throws coming in the final 4:45.
BOWERS FLEXES
Sophomore center Rachel Bowers was just as vital to Boise State's comeback win Sunday at Eastern Washington, matching her career high with 19 points and going 7-for-10 from the field and 5-for-6 from the free-throw line.
Bowers was at her best in the fourth quarter, going a perfect 4-for-4 from the field and scoring eight points. All four of Bowers' field goals in the frame came in the final 4:13 and spurred the Bronco comeback from an 11-point deficit with 6:32 to play.
WINNING STREAK TO FOUR
Sunday's come-from-behind win at Eastern Washington ran Boise State's winning streak to a season-best four games.
STRONG NON-CONFERENCE FINISH
Boise State will aim to finish its regular-season, non-conference slate strong over its final two games this week, against Western Oregon and Pepperdine.
The Broncos, already at 6-4 in non-conference play, could finish with eight such wins with a sweep of this week's action. That would give Boise State at least eight regular-season, non-conference wins for the fourth time since 2014-15.
LIEBERMAN AWARD CONSIDERATION?
Redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher may not have made the preseason watch list for the Nancy Lieberman Award, given annually to the nation's top point guard, but she's made a case to be added by the midseason point.
Christopher has racked up a national-best 97 assists, as well as 8.08 assists per game (second in the country behind only Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu), through Dec. 16. Over 12 games this season, Christopher has passed out at least seven assists in nine.
Her 10 assists in Dec. 4's win over New Mexico marked Christopher's third double digit-assist game this season. Nov. 24, at then-No. 8/9 Louisville, Christopher finished with 14 assists as the Broncos shot 61.4 percent.
