BOISE, Idaho - Boise State closes the "preview" week of Mountain West action Sunday with a 1 p.m. tip at Colorado State. The Broncos then resume non-conference action with a pair of games next week, beginning Wednesday, Dec. 11, at ExtraMile Arena against BYU, and continuing Sunday, Dec. 15, at Eastern Washington.

LAST TIME OUT
Boise State opened the Mountain West campaign 1-0 with Wednesday night's 83-82 overtime win over New Mexico.

Redshirt junior center Mallory McGwire hit the game-winning 3-pointer with 11 seconds remaining, and finished the night with a double-double of a career-high 21 points and a career high-matching 17 rebounds.

The Broncos scored the final six points of overtime after going scoreless for the opening 4:04 of the extra session.

WHO'S NEXT
The Broncos close the "preview" week of conference play Sunday at Colorado State. Tip time is set for 1 p.m. at Moby Arena.

The Rams (5-4, 0-1 MW) fell in their conference opener Wednesday, 59-49, at San Diego State.

Colorado State is led by the play of Andrea Brady, who leads the team in both scoring (11.3 ppg) and rebounding 8.0 rpg), and Megan Jacobs (10.3 ppg).

SERIES HISTORY
The all-time series between the Rams and Broncos is tied, 10-10, going into Sunday night's contest, with Boise State on a six-game run since a 65-61 upset of the top-seeded Rams in the 2017 Mountain West semifinals.

GETTING COMFORTABLE AT MOBY
Boise State has captured three-straight games at Moby Arena heading into Sunday's clash, an unusual run of success at a place in which Colorado State usually dominated Mountain West play.

Boise State's 51-45 win at Moby on Dec. 31, 2016, snapped the Rams' 27-game home conference winning streak. The 62-58 Bronco win in Fort Collins the following Dec. 28 put the Rams at 34-2 at Moby since 2013-14, with both losses coming to Boise State.

Last season, the Broncos beat the Rams, 72-63, in overtime, and are the only Mountain West team with three wins at Moby Arena since 2013-14.

CLASS OF THE MOUNTAIN WEST
After Wednesday night's win over New Mexico, Boise State, two-time defending Mountain West regular-season champion, has now won its last four Mountain West openers, and 30 of its last 32 meetings overall against conference opposition (regular season and tournament).

The current 30-2 run began with a 91-85 victory over New Mexico in Boise on Feb. 7, 2018. That win started a seven-game winning streak to close the 2017-18 regular season, which was followed by a 3-0 run at the 2018 Mountain West Tournament, a 16-2 regular season in 2018-19, and another tournament win last March.

PROTECT THE HOME COURT
Wednesday night's 83-82 overtime win over New Mexico marked Boise State's 15th-straight home victory over Mountain West competition.

The Broncos' last home conference loss was a 72-68 defeat to Nevada on Jan. 20, 2018.

McGWIRE DOMINATES
The Mountain West got its first up-close look at redshirt senior Mallory McGwire Wednesday, and the Bronco transfer sent an unmistakable message.

McGwire, who sat out last season after transferring from Oregon, showed that her being voted the 2019-20 Preseason Newcomer of the Year was not overhyped at all, posting a 21-point, 17-rebound double-double on New Mexico, and hitting the game-winning 3-pointer with 11 seconds left in overtime to lift the Broncos to the 83-82 win.

She only got stronger as the game went on. McGwire, who finished 9-for-14 from the field, scored 14 of her 21 points and went 6-for-9 shooting over the fourth quarter and overtime.

IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Boise State has found itself, as well as a handful of players, ranked fairly high in early national stat rankings through Dec. 4.

As a team, the Broncos rank second in the country in assists (173). The Broncos' 46.9 field-goal percentage ranks 18th, and the team's 81 3-pointersare fourth in the country.

Individually, redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher leads the nation with 72 assists, and is second with 8.00 assists per game. Senior guard Riley Lupfer is second in the country with 36 3-pointers made, and third with 4.00 triples made per game.

THE RUN-AND-SHOOT
Boise State's offense has been a thrill to watch through the opening month of the campaign, averaging 77.4 points per game (36th in the country) while passing out 173 assists, second-most in the country.

Wednesday against New Mexico, the Broncos' superior ball movement and scoring was on full display, as, led by Jayde Christopher (10 assists) and Braydey Hodgins (eight), Boise State registered 28 assists on 34 made field goals.

LIEBERMAN AWARD CONSIDERATION?
Redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher may not have made the preseason watch list for the Nancy Lieberman Award, given annually to the nation's top point guard, but she's made a case to be added by the midseason point.

Christopher has racked up a national-best 72 assists, as well as 8.00 assists per game (second in the country behind only Oregon's Sabrina Ionescu), through Dec. 4.

Her 10 assists in Wednesday's win over New Mexico marked Christopher's third double digit-assist game this season, and the seventh (in nine game) with at least seven. Nov. 24, at then-No. 8/9 Louisville, Christopher finished with 14 assists as the Broncos shot 61.4 percent.
