Boise State's women's tennis team fell to Utah 5-2 on Sunday in Salt Lake City
SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (2/10/19) – The Boise State women's tennis team fell to Pac-12 opponent Utah 5-2 on Sunday in Salt Lake City.
In the second of two matches in the Beehive State this weekend, the Broncos started off in dominant fashion by winning the doubles point 2-0. Wilhelmina Palmer and Lilian Poling defeated the Ute tandem of Brianna Chisholm and Madison Tattini 6-2 on court one , while Wiktoria Nosek and Emily Strande put it away with a 6-1 win on court three over Leah Heimuli and Anya Lamoreaux to give the Broncos a 1-0 lead.
At the No. 1 singles position, Palmer ground out a tough three-set match to win 2-6, 7-7, 10-8 over Brianna Chisholm, but she would prove to be the lone Bronco to come out victorious in the singles matches.
The loss bumps the Broncos back to 2-4 on the year, but an upcoming off week will allow them to tune things up before four matches in a row at home. After the off-week they will play host to South Dakota on Feb. 22 and Colorado on Feb. 24 at Boas Indoor Tennis Center.
