Boise State's women's tennis team fell to Washington State 4-0 on Saturday in Pullman
PULLMAN, Wash. (3/23/19) – The Boise State women's tennis team was shut out 4-0 in its trip to Pullman to face the 33rd ranked Washington State Cougars on Saturday.
In their third match against a Pac-12 opponent this season, the Broncos were unable to generate any sort of success. The Broncos' No. 1 doubles tandem of Wilhelmina Palmer and Lilian Poling were leading their match 5-3, but were unable close the door before the other two doubles pairings were taken down, leaving their match unfinished. This would be the only bright spot on the day for the Blue and Orange.
Each of the three singles matches were decided in consecutive sets, and Washington State left no doubt they are worthy of their ranking by taking the match in a 4-0 sweep.
Up next, the Broncos are back home in Boise to take on Whitman College and try to escape their current two-game skid. The match is scheduled to be held outdoors at Appleton Tennis Center, so the recent warm spell in the Boise area could create a wonderful tennis atmosphere next Saturday.
