Boise State (27-9, 7-7 MW) scored a season-high 17 runs to even the series against New Mexico
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Boise State softball team evened the series against New Mexico with a five-inning, 17-5 win over the Lobos, Friday at Lobo Softball Field.
The 17 runs in a season high for the Broncos (27-9, 7-7 MW).
Boise State again struck in the first inning, scoring four runs. Kora Wade reached home on a RBI single from Jessica McKay, setting the stage for a three-run home run from Bradie Fillmore — her ninth of the season.
The Lobos responded with three runs in the bottom of the first, and two in the bottom of the second, but the Broncos' bats never slowed down.Â
Ashlyn Adams and Karlee Johnson both hit home runs, while India Kelly had a pinch-hit triple in the fifth inning. McKay led the Broncos at the plate, finishing 3-for-4.
A seven-run second inning gave Boise State a lead they never relinquished, as the team scored in all but one inning.Â
Saturday's rubber-match is set for noon MT.Â
