Boise State (36-16) drops elimination game to fifth-seeded Florida in program's first appearance on Championship Sunday
"This is a wonderful place to play, it's what softball should be all about as the sport's growing," said head coach Maggie Livreri. "It's pretty cool to be a part of. As much as we didn't necessarily score a bunch of runs or do some of the things that we wanted to do, it was fun to see it all and be a part of it. And it'll help us in the forward as we move forward."
Starting pitcher Kelsey Broadus spread six hits over her four innings of work, but a two-run bottom of the first would give Florida (47-15) a lead they would not relinquish in the 5-0 victory. Broadus ends her stint in the postseason holding opponents to four earned runs over 18 innings of action (1.56 ERA). Junior Micaela Leal would be efficient in her 2.0 innings of relief, holding the Gators to only two hits.
Bradie Fillmore, Alison Seng and Morgan Lamb singled for the Broncos (36-16) a day after the program was held hitless, but Boise State wasn't able to get much else going on offense. The top of the order for the Broncos was held to 0-for-8 on the day.The day is done for Kelsey Broadus as we move to the bottom of the fifth.

Only four earned runs allowed through 18 innings (1.55 ERA) in her three starts in the Gainesville Regional. A remarkable weekend thus far for the left-hander!#BleedBlue | #NCAASoftball pic.twitter.com/Y7VOmdTDyz
Despite the offensive struggles faced on Saturday at the Gainesville Regional, Boise State was able to attack Florida early. Ashlyn Adams was hit by a pitch in the second spot of the batting order, and a single by Fillmore put runners on the corners. With two outs in the inning, the margin of error was too small for the Broncos to get a run across the plate.
The Gators were able to add runs in the third, fourth and fifth innings for the victory, as Boise State would only register two hits the rest of the afternoon.
The 36 wins this season are the second-highest total in program history, and advanced Boise State to the NCAA Tournament for the second-straight season — the first as an at-large team in program history. The four-year seniors of Rebekah Cervantes, Morgan Lamb and Kora Wade went 123-90 over the course of their careers, including three-straight winning seasons. Rainey Dyreson, who transferred in at the start of the 2017 season, went 109-52 in her three seasons as a Bronco.M1 | Fillmore with a single up the middle to put runners on the corners for Boise State in the top of the first. With two outs already in the inning it's too small of a margin for the Broncos to get a run across.

"From a team that's gone from winning 12, 14 games to two seasons in the postseason, that's incredible," Cervantes said. "And, like I said, these two people next to me (Lamb and Wade) have had a giant impact on all of that. And it's incredible, I wouldn't ask for anything more. The experience in general, just traveling the world, being with people who love you, you'll never get that back."
