Senior Alexis Fuller led the way by running 4:13.06 — the second-fastest time in the West Region this season
PORTLAND, Ore. – The Boise State track and field team got an outstanding race in the women's 1,500-meter from Alexis Fuller, Friday at the Portland Twilight.
Looking to improve her chances at a potential berth to the West Preliminary Round, the senior won the race in a time of 4:13.06. That time would move her to second in the West Region, and third nationally, entering Friday's action. Her time is also just off her school record in the event of 4:12.56.
Already owning the 15th-fastest time in the region in the 800m (2:05.57), Fuller now becomes one of three athletes to own top 15 marks in the West in both the 800m and 1,500-meter.
In the men's 1,500-meter, Jeff Lautenslager led the way for Boise State, running 3:49.63. He was joined by Andrew Rafla (3:49.96), Henry Mong (3:50.05) and Jacob Grinwis (3:50.25).
The Broncos will return to action at next weekend's Mountain West Championships, May 8-11, in Clovis, Calif.
