Broncos Grab Pair of Top-5’s at Bill Dellinger

SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The Boise State cross country teams made a statement Saturday both out ran three nationally ranked teams at the Bill Dellinger Invitational.
The women finished second behind just BYU who were ranked sixth coming into the weekend. The 13th ranked Broncos beat out the meet host ninth ranked Oregon, as well as Furman (15), and UCLA (27).
Clare O'Brien led the way for the women, finishing eighth with a time of 20:02.0. Joining her in the top-5 runners for Boise State were Yukino Parle (20:21.2), Maxine Paholek (20:25.3), Kristie Schoffield (20:26.1) and Grace Brock (20:28.3).
The men's squad came into the week unranked, however, they made a mark finishing fourth out of nine teams, six of whom are ranked nationally. The Bronco men beat Portland (7), Air Force (27), and Villanova (29).
For the Boise State men, Ahmed Muhumed set the pace recording a 10th-place finish with a time of 23:46.8. Joining him in the Bronco scoring five were, Miler Haller (23:58.3), Elijah Armstrong (23:58.9), Logan Rees (24:15.5) and Jonathan Shields (24:25.7).
The Blue and Orange will next compete at the Inland Empire Invitational, Oct. 12 in Lewiston, Idaho.
