BOISE, Idaho - Boise State makes the first of its two trips to Vegas this year when it takes on UNLV Wednesday in a 1 p.m. MT tip.

LAST TIME OUT
Boise State got back into the W column Saturday, using its best defensive performance of the season to lock down a 54-40 win over Nevada.

The Broncos held Nevada to a season-low 40 points, as well as to 26.9-percent shooting and a 2-for-17 showing from 3-point range in the contest. Boise State sealed the game by holding the Wolf Pack scoreless over the final 5:04, as Nevada missed its last nine attempts from the field.

Mallory McGwire (14 points, 10 rebounds, three blocks) posted her fourth double-double of the season, and Braydey Hodgins scored a game-high 17 points to lead the Broncos despite an offensively-challenged day (37.9-percent shooting, 1-for-17 from 3-point range as a team).

WHO'S NEXT
The Broncos make the first of two trips to Vegas, heading down for Wednesday afternoon's tip at UNLV. Wednesday's contest will be played at Cox Pavilion, as opposed to the Thomas and Mack Center, where the Mountain West Tournament is played.

UNLV (6-8, 2-1 MW) enters Wednesday's game on a season-best three-game winning streak, including a 2-0 week of Mountain West play with wins at Utah State and Air Force.

Center Rodjanae Wade (13.2 ppg, 9.5 rpg) was named Mountain West Player of the Week Monday after averaging a double-double of 20.5 points and 13.5 rebounds in the wins over the Aggies and Falcons.

SERIES HISTORY
Boise State leads the all-time series with UNLV, 10-9, and has captured the past two meetings.
IN THE NATIONAL RANKINGS
Boise State has found itself, as well as a handful of players, ranked fairly high in early national stat rankings through Jan. 5.

As a team, the Broncos rank eighth in assists (274). The Broncos' 45.0 field-goal percentage ranks 36th, and the team's 121 3-pointers are 18th in the country.

Individually, redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher leads the nation with 123 assists, and is second with 7.68 assists per game. Senior guard Riley Lupfer is sixth in the country with 49 3-pointers made, and 22nd   with 3.06 triples made per game.

LOCK IT DOWN
Boise State turned in what head coach Gordy Presnell called the team's best defensive performance of the season Saturday against Nevada. The Broncos held Nevada to a season-low 40 points, in addition to holding the Wolf Pack to just 26.9 percent shooting, and a 2-for-17 mark from 3-point range.

The Broncos held the Wolf Pack scoreless over the game's final 5:04, as Nevada missed its final nine attempts, and finished the game just two for its last 17.

Center Mallory McGwire blocked three shots for the second-straight contest, while Jayde Christopher made a pair of steals.

PROTECT THE HOME COURT
Jan. 4's 54-40 win over Nevada marked Boise State's 16th-straight home victory over Mountain West competition.

The Broncos' last home conference loss was a 72-68 defeat to Nevada on Jan. 20, 2018.

ANOTHER DOUBLE-DOUBLE
Redshirt junior center Mallory McGwire posted her fourth double-double of the season, and second in Mountain West play, with Saturday's 14-point, 10-rebound effort against Nevada.

The performance continued a strong early start to McGwire's Mountain West career. Over these first four games, McGwire has posted two double-doubles (Saturday vs. Nevada, Dec. 4 vs. New Mexico), and is averaging 14.5 points, 10.3 rebounds, and 2.00 blocks a game while shooting 51.0 percent from the field.

HODGINS APPROACHING 1,000
Senior guard Braydey Hodgins is just 26 points away from becoming the 22nd member of Boise State's 1,000-Point Club, and has a very good chance of reaching the milestone this week.

Hodgins broke out with 436 points (13.2 ppg) last season, as she was named to the All-Mountain West Team.

Reaching 1,000 points would make Hodgins the fourth member of her immediate family to hit that mark. Her mother, Karen (Murray) Hodgins, scored 1,745 points at Washington (1981-84), and her older sisters, Delaney (2015-18) and Hayley (2013-16), are 1-2 on Eastern Washington's career scoring list with 2,120 and 1,865 points, respectively.

CLIMBING UP THE CAREER LIST
Redshirt senior point guard Jayde Christopher has skyrocketed up the Boise State career assists list in her Bronco career, a feat made even more impressive by the fact that she's only played 49 games in the Blue and Orange.

Christopher, with 305 career assists at Boise State (2018-present), already ranks sixth all-time in program history, and is already just 85 away from the No. 3 spot held by Marta Hermida (390).

This season, Christopher's 123 assists are already the 10th-most in program single-season history, and, averaging 7.68 assists per game this year, the Federal Way, Wash., native is well within range of the single-season record of 192 set by Yaiza Rodriguez in 2016-17.
