BASEBALL RETURNS
Boise State returns to the baseball diamond for the first time since 1980 when the Broncos travel to Austin, Texas to take on the nationally-ranked Texas Longhorns...Boise State's first year of baseball was 1936...Broncos competed as Boise Junior College until 1969 when they joined the NAIA...Boise State moved to the NCAA in 1971 and played through 1980...Broncos were members of the Big Sky (1971-74) and Northern Pacific (1975-80) conferences.

Boise State is 6-4 in its season openers as a NCAA program, including 0-1 on the road (1972 at Lewis-Clark State)...in their final season prior to 2020, the Broncos began their season with a four-game series at home against No. 19 BYU and went 1-3...won the final game 7-2...season opened Feb. 29 with a doubleheader loss and marks the only other time Boise State has played in February.
