Broncos Open Spring Season in California

THE EVENT: The Boise State men's golf team opens the spring portion of its schedule at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate in Palm Desert, Calif., Feb. 21-23.

THE COURSE: Teams will play the Par 72, 7,305-yard course at Classic Club

THE FIELD (Ranking): Boise State (80) is one of four Mountain West schools competing in the 21-team tournament, joining Colorado State (5), Fresno State (100) and host Wyoming (101)…other schools in the field include Auburn (19), Cal State Northridge (165), Charlotte (50), Colorado (82), Denver (104), Florida Atlantic (92), New Mexico State (176), North Texas (143), Oregon (89), San Diego (91), Seattle U (137), South Dakota State (202), Southern Utah (216), TCU (73), UC Riverside (263), UC Santa Barbara (141) and UT Arlington (139).

THE LINEUP: Sophomore Hugo Townsend, junior Skyler Eubank, senior Joe Neuheisel, sophomore Carmen Barzekoff and senior Mason Schulze.

TOURNAMENT HISTORY: Last year, Skyler Eubank won the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate with a 9-under, 207 and Boise State finished runner-up to Texas Tech at 5-under, 859.

LAST TIME OUT: Skyler Eubank led the Broncos, tying for 18th at the Ka'anapali Classic Collegiate Invitational in Ka'anapali, Hawaii, Nov. 1-3, 2019…Boise State was 17-under and placed 10th.

THE COACHES: Dan Potter is in his sixth season as the head coach of the Broncos…Boise State has won a pair of tournaments and earned a dozen top-three finishes under Potter…assistant coach Kavan Eubank is in his first season with the Broncos.
