THE MEET
The Boise State gymnastics team will return home for just the second time through the first seven weeks of the 2020 season, hosting its annual Pink Meet against Sacramento State, UC Davis and Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference rival Utah State, Friday (Feb. 21). The Broncos (2-5, 0-3 MRGC), Hornets (3-11), Aggies of UC Davis (8-5) and Aggies of Utah State (3-6, 2-4) are slated to begin their quadrangular meet at 7 p.m., at ExtraMile Arena.

PINK MEET/MOMMY AND ME NIGHT/ALUMNI APPRECIATION
Normally $6 for adults and $4 for seniors and juniors, all attendees wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness will receive admission for $3. Additionally, Friday will be Mommy and Me Night, and all mothers will receive $3 admission, and their first child is free. Additional children will receive $3 admission.
Friday night will also be the Broncos' Alumni Appreciation Night, and all former gymnasts will receive free admission. Alumni looking to add their name the pass list should reach out to Alex Esmerian in the Bronco Athletic Association (alexandraesmerian@boisestate.edu).
HELP BOISE PUBLIC SCHOOLS, GET IN FREE
Boise State Gymnastics and the Boise Public School District have teamed up for the second season to collect hygiene items at each home meet during the 2020 season. At each meet, you can donate hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothbrushes, etc.) for free admission to aid children of the Boise Public School District.

Parking is free for all attendees in the Stadium Lots.
IN THE RANKINGS
Following its highest score of the season, a 196.150 at BYU (Feb. 15), the Boise State gymnastics team moved up two spots in this week's Road to Nationals rankings (No. 35). Boise State is led by its bars line-up, which ranks 19th nationally with an average team score of 48.971. Junior Emily Muhlenhaupt ranks tied for sixth nationally in the event individually, averaging 9.904.
The Broncos' vault line-up ranks No. 32 (48.792), led individually by junior Gabriela Bouza (T45th; 9.8378); the beam squad ranks 38th nationally (48.617), led by sophomore Hope Masiado (101st; 9.787); and the floor line-up ranks 48th, led by junior Tatum Bruden (T127th; 9.813).
THE ROAD TO 10.0
Junior Emily Muhlenhaupt put together a near-perfect 9.975 on bars in San Jose, Calif. (Jan. 26), tying a school record that has been achieved six times. She also hit the mark in San Jose, Feb. 1, 2019, becoming just the third individual in school history to do it – Krystine Jacobsen did it three times, and Ciera Perkins did it once.
If Muhlenhaupt, who has recorded at least a 9.925 in five of six meets this season, is able to notch a 10.0, it will be the first such score on bars in school history, and just the fifth on any apparatus all-time. Most recently, Perkins registered a 10.0 on vault, Jan. 30, 2015. It was the third perfect vault in school history, a mark also achieved by Julie Wagner (March 20, 1993) and Leslie Mott (March 23, 1996). On beam, Marie Lucas registered a 10.0, Feb. 27, 2002.
WEEKLY HONORS FOR THE BRONCOS
Boise State juniors Gabriela Bouza and Emily Muhlenhaupt were named Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference Specialists of the Week for their performances on vault and bars, respectively, against BYU, Feb. 15.
For Bouza, the accolade is the first of her career. She scored a 9.850 on vault against the Cougars, her fourth-consecutive meet with at least a share of the meet title.
Muhlenhaupt earned a 9.950 against BYU, picking up her fourth bars title of the season and her fourth MRGC Specialist of the Week honor of 2020. She ranks tied for sixth nationally on bars, and has recorded at least a 9.925 in five of her first six meets of the season. She now has seven-career Bars Specialist of the Week honors and six-career victories in the event.
Senior Isabella Amado also garnered her first-career MRGC Specialist of the Week accolade earlier this season, picking up the award after recording a season-high 9.900 against BYU (Jan. 31) en route to her second beam title of the season.
FIVE-STRAIGHT TITLES
The Broncos captured their fifth-consecutive Mountain Rim Gymnastics Conference title this past season, the longest championship streak for a Boise State athletic program since the football team also won five-straight in the Western Athletic Conference from 2002-06. The only program with a longer streak in Boise State history was the wrestling team, which won seven-straight Big Sky Conference Championships from 1974-80.
12-STRAIGHT REGIONALS
Boise State made its 12th-consecutive NCAA Regional Championship appearance this past season. Competing in the Corvallis Regional in the new NCAA postseason format, the Broncos advanced to the Regional Final, finishing second in the opening session. The Broncos, which entered the regional ranked No. 12 – the highest ranking entering regionals in school history – finished fourth in the Regional Final.
AMERICA'S HIGHEST GPA
The Broncos combined for a team GPA of 3.77 this past academic year, the third time in four seasons the team finished with the highest grade-point average in the country amongst gymnastics programs, per the WCGA. Boise State also boasted the nation's highest GPA in both 2015-16 and 2017-18. The Broncos had the second-highest GPA in the country in 2016-17, and the third-highest in 2014-15. Boise State also boasted 13 WCGA Scholastic All-Americans.
TEAM CAPTAINS
Seniors Isabella Amado and Courtney McGregor were voted team captains for the 2020 season by their teammates. Each competed in the 2016 Summer Olympic Games in Rio, for Panama and New Zealand, respectively, and each plans to go to medical school following their competitive career. Both Amado and McGregor have been named Academic All-MRGC and WCGA Scholastic All-America in each of their three seasons with the Broncos.
