Men’s Relay Opens with Gold

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - On the opening day of the 2020 Mountain West Championships, Boise State track and field men's distance medley relay team earned the first gold medal of the championship.
The team of Jonathan Shields, Chip Mitchell, Jacob Grinwis and Henry Mong took home the gold for the Broncos. Its the second-straight conference title for the Boise State men in the DMR.
The men's time of 9:54.00 is their fastest of the year for the Broncos and the 26th-fastest qualifying time in the nation. It also stands as the fifth-fastest time in program history.
Running for the women, Tiahna Vladic, Kelly Moodry, Kristie Schoffield and Olivia Johnson finished fourth with a time of 11:50.76.
Action resumes for the Broncos at 1 p.m. MT Saturday, with the qualifying round of the women's long jump.
