BANDON, Ore. – Boise State men's golf wrapped up the Bandon Dunes Championship with a sixth-place finish, Tuesday.
The Broncos finished with a 10-over 294 for a 13-over 865 in the 54-hole event. Boise State finished a stroke ahead of No. 21 UCLA and Mountain West rival San Jose State. Among the other schools bested by the Broncos were Fresno State, Idaho and Washington State.
"It was not the final round we were looking for today," Boise State head coach Dan Potter said. "We just had a few big numbers mixed in and then we didn't finish well. It was tough golf and we'll be better for playing in those conditions. Obviously, I would like to see us cross the finish line better next time we go into a final round."
Brian Humphreys shot a 1-over 72 for the third-straight round and tied for 31st. Hugo Townsend notched an eagle in his even par round of 71 and finished tied for 34th at 4-over. Skyler Eubank also tied for 34th after a 1-over 72.
Connor Johnstone entered the day tied for seventh, but dropped to a tie for 47th after a 9-over 80 put him at 7-over. Cameron Barzekoff shot an 8-over 79, Tuesday and ended up tied for 88th at 18-over.
