
DeMulling and Arca Costas Led Broncos in Loss at Washington

SEATTLE, Wash. - Wyatt DeMulling and Simon Arca Costas won their singles matches to lead Boise State on Sunday at Seattle where the Broncos fell 5-2 at the hands of the Washington Huskies. Both Broncos won their matches in straight sets but that was all Boise State would get against the Pac-12 Huskies.Â
The loss drops Boise State to 7-6 overall heading into a week off before a road trip to Arizona March 21-23 where it will face Northern Arizona, Arizona State and Grand Canyon.Â
Washington opened the match by taking the doubles point with victories on courts two and one.
The Huskies had the match clinched at 4-1 with DeMulling scoring the first Boise State point when he blew past Washington's Thibault Cancel 6-1, 6-1 on court three. The senior improved to 17-7 overall with the win.
Arca Costas brought home the second Boise State victory in the final match of the day. The sophomore won a second-set tiebreaker on his way to victory over Jack Pulliam by the scores of  6-3, 7-6(0). His domination in the tiebreaker moved him to 16-9 overall with the win on court four.
Newcomer Michael Bott battled to the end at the No. 6 position before coming up short in two tight sets 7-5, 7-6(5) to Washington's Adam Torocsik.
