
Boise State Divers Ready for NCAA Zone Championships

WHAT'S HAPPENING
- Boise State's three-member dive team is off to the NCAA Zone E Championships in Federal Way, Wash. All three Broncos qualified for the zone championship by meeting score standards on at least one of the three dives.Â
- This is the first time under dive coach Brandon Blaisdell that all of the divers have qualified for the zone meet together.
- While this is sophomore Marti Erlam's second trip to the zone championships, this is the first trip for both juniors Taylor Clark and Tatum Thompkins.
- At stake are tickets to the NCAA Championships March 18-21 at Athens, Ga.Â

- Tuesday: 3-Meter Springboard

MARTI ERLAM
- This will be the second trip to the NCAA Zone E Championships for Erlam having qualified as freshman in 2019.Â
- The sophomore competed in five competitions this year, but missed the Mountain West Championships because of injury. She is healthy now and ready to compete.
- Erlam qualified on both springboards, the 1-meter and 3-meter.
- On the 1-meter she recorded five scores that qualified her for the zone meet, with a career-high 307.20 being her top mark.
- In the 3-meter competition, all six of her scores during the season surpassed the qualifying standard for zones with a top score of 316.18 ... her career-high is a 324.67 recorded during her freshman campaign.
- At last year's NCAA Zone E Championships in Flagstaff, Ariz., she placed 12th on 3-meter with a combined score of 568.55 (287.25/281.3) and took 14th on the 1-meter with a 540.50 (270.8/269.7).Â
TAYLOR CLARK
- This will be Clark's first trip to the NCAA Zone Championships.Â
- The junior qualified for the zone meet on the platform with three different qualifying scores late in the season, including setting her career-high on each of her last three dives, twice at the 2020 Mountain West Championships with a 237.10 in the prelims followed by a 243.65 in the B final to place 12th.
TATUM THOMPKINS
- Thompkins will also be competing in her first NCAA Zone E Championships meet.
- Like Erlam, the junior qualified for the championships on both springboards.
- Thompkins had two scores that qualified her for the zone meet with the top being a career-high 279.00 scored at the MW Championships to take 10th.
- On the 3-meter springboard, Thompkins tallied three scores that surpassed the qualifying standard with the top being a career-high 306.08 ... she scored a second-best score of 285.25 during the MW Championship B final to place 13th overall.
