#FreshmanFriday continues this Friday, as we feature the latest Bronco import from Spain, guard Cristina Gil (Barcelona, Spain / Femeni Sant Andria).
Boise State graduates six seniors in 2019-20 who made up one of the most decorated classes in program history. Along with the seven returning Broncos, Boise State will welcome a decorated seven-woman freshman class to the City of Trees in 2020-21. The motivated, hungry group boasts numerous all-state and all-section honors, league MVP awards, and team titles at the state, section, and league levels.
Gil, a 5-foot-8 point guard, is the latest talented international to come to Boise State from Spain. Playing her club ball for Femeni Sant Adria, Gil was named the MVP of the 2018 U-16 Spanish Club Championship Game after scoring 18 points with eight rebounds, helping lead the cadet team to the gold medal.
Â
Gil also saw action with the club's U-18 squad in 2018-19, averaging 9.7 points per game.
"Cristina is a combo guard, very aggressive. She's played very well with her club, and we're looking forward to having her here in Boise," Bronco head coach Gordy Presnell said during November's signing period.
