This year's slate features 46 games with 13 at home.

BOISE, Idaho - Boise State's head softball coach Maggie Huffaker released Thursday afternoon the Broncos' 2021 schedule. This year's slate includes 46 regular-season games beginning with four of five nonconference tournaments on the road starting the weekend of Feb. 12-14. The Blue and Orange will also host 13 contests at Dona Larsen Park, 12 Mountain West Conference games and one versus instate-rival Idaho State.

"We are all excited for the possibility of a regular season in 2021 after our season was cut short in 2020," said Huffaker. "We have chosen destinations and schools that will help us get better on the field, but also will hopefully give us the best chance of competing in all of the games, given the state of the COVID-19 pandemic.  We are hopeful for our student-athletes, who are chomping at the bit to play and compete, and we believe our schedule gives them a great opportunity to prepare for the Mountain West Conference and postseason play."

The season will begin with four-straight road tournaments with the season opener at Atlanta, Ga., as part of the Georgia Tech Tournament (Feb. 12-14). The opponents are not yet known, but the Broncos are scheduled for four contests that weekend. This will be the first trip to the state of Georgia for the program and the third trip east of the Mississippi River all time.

The Blue and Orange will then travel to the state of Louisiana Feb. 19-21 to compete at the McNeese State Tournament where they will play five games, opponents not yet known. The trip to Lake Charles will mark the second time the Broncos have played in the state of Louisiana and the first since 2010 when they played at Louisiana Tech in a Western Athletic Conference series.

The third tournament of the season will have Boise State traveling to Eugene, Ore., March 5-7 for a tournament at the University of Oregon. Like the first two weekends, the Broncos do not yet know who they will play in Eugene, but they will have four games on the schedule there.

The fourth of five nonconference tournaments this season and the four-straight on the road will take place the weekend of March 12-14 at St. George, Utah, where they will participate in Dixie State's tournament. Boise State will open against Southern Utah on Friday, March 12, then follow with contests versus Utah and Dixie State on March 13 with the tournament finale against Weber State slated for March 14.

Mountain West play opens the week of March 20-21 with the Broncos taking on the UNLV Rebels in a three-game series at Las Vegas, Nev. This year's conference slate will feature a doubleheader followed by a single game the next day, rather than one game per day over three days.

The final nonconference tournament for the Blue and Orange will be in Provo, Utah, March 26-27. Boise State will face the BYU Cougars in a doubleheader on the 26th, followed by a single contest versus Southern Utah on the 27th.

The Broncos' home opener will take place the first weekend of April when they host the San Diego State Aztecs in MW play. The weekend will start with a doubleheader on Friday (April 2) and wrap up with a single game on Saturday (April 3).

Boise State will play two nonconference games versus instate-rival Idaho State. The two-game series will begin with the Broncos hosting the Bengals for one contest on April 6, while traveling to Pocatello on April 20 for the second.

The remaining schedule will be exclusively three-game series in conference competition starting with a trip to San Jose State (April 10-11). Other MW road series include trips to New Mexico April 24-25 and Fresno State May 8-9.

In addition to the MW home series versus SDSU, the Broncos will also host Utah State (April 17-18), Colorado State (May 1-2) and the season ending series versus Nevada on May 14-15.

The MW does not sponsor a conference tournament to decide which team will represent the league in the NCAA tournament, instead the regular-season champion will receive the conference's automatic berth. The NCAA tournament begins the weekend of May 21-23.
