BOISE, Idaho - Â Allison Voigt, Boise State's head beach volleyball coach, announced Tuesday the signing of three high school standouts Aris Vetter (Olympia, Wash.), Anika Christensen (Gig Harbor, Wash.) and Ava Anderson (Ladera Ranch, Calif.) to National Letters of Intent. The trio will join the Broncos in the fall of 2022 in preparation for the spring 2023 campaign.Â
"I'm very excited about our 2022 class," said Voigt. "Aris and Anika are coming from the same club team in Tacoma as defenders. They both bring in great ball control, experience and have a winning mentality. Ava is coming from San Diego and will be a split/blocker for us. She has great size and a good feel for the game. Each of these student-athletes will make an immediate impact in our program both on the court and in the classroom. I can't wait to get them on campus and have them represent Boise State."
Anika Christensen is 5-foot-9 defender who is currently a senior at Peninsula High School in Gig Harbor, Wash. Christensen plays her club ball for the DaKine Volleyball Club of Tacoma, Wash. In 2020, she received the DaKine Club Challenge Best Defender Award. Christensen and her pairs partner took third place at the BVCA Club Challenge Nationals in 2021. She teamed up with another Bronco recruit, Aris Vetter, to take third at the AVP Waupaca Boatride Tournament in 2020. While playing with different partners, she placed third at both the 2021 AVP Junior California Championships and Manhattan Beach Juniors. Christensen was also a 2019 A1 USA Beach Volleyball player.Â

Aris Vetter is currently a senior at Olympia High School in Olympia, Wash. The 5-foot-10 defender received the 2019 DaKine Spirit Award and 2019 Best Team Performance Award. Â She has played in numerous competitions during her youth career including winning the 2020 U16 AVP America Junior National Championship with Bailey Showalter. In the last two years she has recorded five top-5 finishes nationally. In addition to the nation title, she has a third-place result at the 2020 AVP Waupaca Boatride Tournament with future Bronco teammate Anika Christensen, and placed third at the 2021 SSOVA April Beach Volleyball Tournament. Â

Ava Anderson plays both indoor and outdoor volleyball for Tesoro High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., where she is currently a senior. She is a four-year member of the THS beach volleyball varsity team where she was named All-Marmonte League Sand Volleyball First Team in 2021 following an undefeated pair's record during the campaign. She also plays club beach volleyball for Tamarack Beach Volleyball Club in Carlsbad, Calif. As a member of the indoor squad at Tesoro, she was named second-team All-Coastal Canyon League in 2019. Anderson is also a two-time team captain and was named team Most Valuable Offensive Player in 2018 (junior varsity team). Â
